Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Steiner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steiner pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Steiner looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Johnson wants to stand up but Steiner is controlling him.
Steiner stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson.
Steiner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Johnson working a defensive guard here.
Johnson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Johnson pulls Steiner in close to his closed guard and prevents Steiner from doing any damage or advancing position.
Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steiner controls the pace.

Steiner passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Johnson is looking to reverse the position.
Steiner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Steiner scores with punches from side control.
Johnson can't do much from the bottom here.
Johnson tries to bench press Steiner off him but Steiner keeps the position.
Steiner controls the position.
Steiner cracks Johnson with a big elbow.

Steiner trying to control the position but Johnson is working away.
Johnson misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Johnson holds on to Steiner's head and controls the position momentarily.
Steiner tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Steiner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Steiner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Steiner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Steiner stands up.
Steiner is breathing heavily.
Steiner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Steiner off to one side.

Steiner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Steiner trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away.
Johnson gets full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Steiner keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Steiner is not content to let Johnson control the position.
Steiner holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Steiner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Johnson.
Steiner wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Steiner manages to get to full guard.
Johnson postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Steiner dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Steiner is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.
Steiner lands a heavy elbow.
Steiner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Steiner looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Steiner scoring with strikes but Johnson is staying in there.
Steiner wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Steiner avoids the attempt from Johnson to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Steiner is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Steiner scores a takedown into full mount!
Johnson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Steiner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Johnson's face.

Johnson is trying to reverse the position but instead Steiner has taken his back - oops!

Steiner is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Johnson with him. Johnson is trying to defend but Steiner has an arm under the chin now! Johnson grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rick Steiner!
