PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deni Kres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kres's entrance music is hate me now. A fine choice. On his way into the cage it seems that Deni Kres has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Deni Kres seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deni Kres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kres tries to keep at a distance but Emelianenko has taken the fight into the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kres stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kres wants it to stay on the feet.

Kres swings around for an armbar but Emelianenko sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kres's guard.

Kres has his foot on Emelianenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emelianenko works his way back into a safe position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Emelianenko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kres.

Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
