Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Verbiah Sozefay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Nate Sonnen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nate Sonnen!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen shoots in but Sozefay avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sozefay throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sonnen is defended easily by Sozefay.
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown but Sozefay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Verbiah Sozefay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Sonnen.
Sozefay throws a head kick that Sonnen semi-blocks.
Nate Sonnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A good leg kick by Sozefay.
Sonnen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sozefay works his way to full guard. Good work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sozefay lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sonnen's sensitive parts.
Sozefay scores with a head kick.
Sonnen fails with a takedown attempt.
Sozefay throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sozefay lands a head kick. Sonnen smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Sozefay lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sozefay.
Sonnen is rocked!
Sonnen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Sonnen is still on wobbly legs! Can Sozefay finish him?
Sonnen looks gassed!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Sozefay! Sonnen is out on his feet! Sozefay rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sonnen is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sonnen is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
