Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raphael Ottoni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zgwina Toure!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toure shoots for a takedown but Ottoni saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A head kick from Ottoni lands but Toure takes it in his stride.


It looks like Zgwina Toure has been cut.
Ottoni looks to land a right hand but Toure moved out of range.

Ottoni drives through with a takedown into guard.


Toure is rocked!

Ottoni drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ottoni jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ottoni gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ottoni wants to clinch.
Toure is looking to slow Ottoni down with leg kicks.

Ottoni is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ottoni shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Ottoni decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ottoni is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Toure is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Raphael Ottoni.

Ottoni misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ottoni looks for a takedown but Toure sprawls well.
Toure tries to bum rush Ottoni with a series of wild strikes but Ottoni uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Toure clinches but Ottoni breaks the clinch

Ottoni drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Toure prevents the takedown attempt.

Ottoni jumps guard and drags Toure to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Toure won't allow Ottoni to sweep him here.
Toure is fighting to break Ottoni's control of his arms but Ottoni is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Toure postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ottoni is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Toure, into his guard.

Ottoni decides to stand up.
Ottoni doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Toure counters with a nice leg kick.

Ottoni scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Toure regains full guard. Nicely done.
Toure avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Toure escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ottoni gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Toure keeping moving, preventing Ottoni from controlling successfully.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Ottoni falls off balance throwing a combination
and Toure counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Toure shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Toure was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ottoni tries to lock up and control but Toure gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ottoni can't escape the position.

Ottoni is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ottoni is squirming around, avoiding Toure's attempts to control the action.

Toure goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ottoni is on top in guard.
Toure utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ottoni with a flurry of punches that miss.
Ottoni is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Toure is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ottoni is aware though and is defending well.

Toure is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ottoni defends well.
Ottoni lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ottoni stands and steps away. Toure gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Toure counters with a thumping low kick.

Ottoni is pulling down on Toure's head to control his posture.

Toure drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ottoni looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ottoni looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ottoni!
Raphael Ottoni is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Toure is trying to escape the position but Ottoni is controlling the position.

Zgwina Toure comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ottoni has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
