Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barao needs to keep his hands up - Lopez had a free shot at his head there.
Lopez misses the shot to the body.
Lopez looks to land a left hand but Barao moved out of range nicely.
Lopez looks to throw the jab but Barao is out of range.
Lopez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barao moves away.
Lopez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barao's head backwards.
Lopez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Barao takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lopez changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Gabriel Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lopez throws a body punch but Barao moves out of range.
Lopez paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lopez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barao sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lopez moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Barao goes down! Can Lopez finish him!?
Barao is rocked!
Lopez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Barao throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Lopez thows a big elbow that misses.
Lopez passes Barao's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lopez is trying to control the action in half guard but Barao is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Barao tries to get to full guard but Lopez has control of the leg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lopez wants to pass to mount but Barao is defending the position.
Lopez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barao keeps working.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Lopez throws a strike but Barao avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Barao is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lopez defends well.
Barao is breathing heavily.
Lopez working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Barao keeping moving, preventing Lopez from controlling successfully.
Lopez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lopez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barao works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lopez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barao swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lopez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lopez stays in close to Barao's body and controls the position.
Lopez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Barao is keeping the position for now.
Lopez content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Barao has locked up a guillotine! Barao's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Lopez is holding on here and Barao must be using up a lot of energy. Lopez has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Barao gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
