Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sandy Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Enter Sandman. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sandy Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Clark!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hawkins, pushing him back against the cage.
Clark swings wildly with an uppercut but Hawkins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hawkins lands a hook that snaps the head of Clark backwards.
Hawkins is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Clark is defending well for now.

Clark pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clark looks to score with a jab to the body but Hawkins is just out of range.
Hawkins punishes Clark's body with a nice straight punch.
Hawkins jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hawkins throws a nice inside leg kick.
Clark chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Clark throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Clark swinging wildly here.
Clark cracks Hawkins with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hawkins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Clark slips a jab and a cross from Hawkins.
Clark takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
A clash of legs there as Clark blocks the low kick.

Clark misses with a wild combination.
Clark lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hawkins backs up against the cage.
Hawkins takes a jab right on the kisser.

Clark tries to land a body kick
and Hawkins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Hawkins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Clark did well to prevent Hawkins getting side control.
Clark is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hawkins not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hawkins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Clark defends it well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Clark lands a nice shot to the body.
Hawkins swats away the attempt to clinch by Clark.

Hawkins manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hawkins pulls Clark in close to prevent any damage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hawkins is on top in guard.
Clark has his hands on Hawkins's head, controlling the position.
Hawkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Clark is trying to control the position but Hawkins postures up.

Hawkins throwing shots but Clark is blocking nicely.
Hawkins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hawkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clark's head.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hawkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clark swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sandy Hawkins will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Clark throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A slow jab from Clark misses its intended target.

Hawkins is looking to clinch but Clark is avoiding it.
Hawkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Clark gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Clark working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hawkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Clark has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hawkins is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Clark.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hawkins is working for a kimura but Clark is defending it quite comfortably.
Hawkins is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Clark wants to control but Hawkins is having none of it.
Hawkins throwing strikes but Clark bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Clark tries to roll over but Hawkins keeps him under control.
Clark wants to control but Hawkins is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sandy Hawkins will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hawkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Hawkins moves into range and clinches up with Clark.
Clark manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Hawkins blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Clark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Clark misses with an uppercut. Hawkins saw that one coming.
Sandy Hawkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hawkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Clark moves away.

Hawkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hawkins clinches up with Clark and pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clark throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hawkins looks to land a body kick but Clark moved away.
Clark scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Clark comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Clark keeps the fight on the outside.
Hawkins avoids the body shot from Clark.
Clark connects with a body shot.
Hawkins misses with the combination.
Clark just misses with a punch to the body.

and Hawkins counters with a three punch combo that has Clark backing up. Clark nods at Hawkins to acknowledge the strikes.

Clark bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hawkins's guard.
Clark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Clark thows a huge punch but Hawkins dodges it nicely.
Hawkins wants to improve his position but Clark is controlling well.
Clark is looking to stall here but Hawkins recovers full guard.

Hawkins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Clark is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Clark walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Clark swings for the body but Hawkins moves out of range.

Clark will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hawkins lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Clark or not.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hawkins keeps control of Clark as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Clark wants to break the clinch but can't.
Clark looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Clark takes a shot to the head.
Hawkins unloads a knee to the mid-section. Clark lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Sandy Hawkins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Clark takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Clark tries to break the clinch but Hawkins is controlling the position.
Clark tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hawkins's elbow.
Hawkins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Clark has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Hawkins gets control of Clark's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hawkins will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sandy Hawkins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hawkins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
