Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Marius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shepard Pie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pie has chosen Bring the Noise as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Shepard Pie enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shepard Pie!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pie thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pie feints and as Marius raises his hands in defense, Pie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Marius pulls Pie in close to prevent any damage.
Marius is trying to control the position but Pie postures up.
Marius on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Marius tries to get out of the position.
Pie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Marius looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Pie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marius gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pie is looking for a sweep.

Marius tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Pie counters by moving into the clinch.

Shepard Pie dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marius is looking to clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Marius . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Marius .
Marius shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Marius in particular looking to stall.
Pie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pie is looking to get back to full guard here but Marius has managed to pass to side control instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pie is squirming around, avoiding Marius 's attempts to control the action.
Marius is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Marius stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Shepard Pie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shepard Pie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pie throws a series of punches but Marius moves out of range.

Marius is trying to control. Pie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Marius uses his free foot to push down on Pie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pie.

Marius tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marius has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Marius is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Pie gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Pie tries to score with a low kick but Marius moves his leg out of the way.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Pie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marius moves away.
Pie swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Marius counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Marius knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pie on the ground.
