Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wilfried Schulz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Viktor Mykolaiv! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schulz cracks Mykolaiv with a right hand to the side of the head. Schulz looks to land a right hand but Mykolaiv moved out of range. Mykolaiv fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Schulz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Mykolaiv misses with a series of wild punches.
Schulz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mykolaiv was well out of range. Poor timing from Schulz. Mykolaiv avoids the body shot from Schulz.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A combination from Mykolaiv does no damage. Some wild striking there from Mykolaiv.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mykolaiv misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mykolaiv on the wrong end of a nice hook. Wilfried Schulz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mykolaiv keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Schulz. Schulz lands a glancing blow to the side of Mykolaiv's head. Mykolaiv will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Schulz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Viktor Mykolaiv is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Schulz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schulz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Mykolaiv on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Schulz is keen to just control but Mykolaiv is a slippery customer. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Schulz in particular looking to stall. Schulz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mykolaiv's head. Schulz winds up and cracks Mykolaiv with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mykolaiv actively working from the bottom here. Mykolaiv looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mykolaiv looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Schulz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mykolaiv looks gassed! Ground and pound from Schulz.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mykolaiv is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schulz pulls his head out easily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mykolaiv looking for submissions off his back. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Schulz connects with a nice short shot to Mykolaiv's temple. Schulz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mykolaiv with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Schulz in particular looking to stall. Mykolaiv tries to get to full guard but Schulz has control of the leg. Mykolaiv actively working from the bottom here. Mykolaiv wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schulz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Schulz lands with a punch from half guard. Mykolaiv has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Schulz escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Schulz! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mykolaiv takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Schulz passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Mykolaiv! Schulz looking to control and managing it successfully. Schulz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schulz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mykolaiv can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wilfried Schulz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mykolaiv bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mykolaiv is rocked! Schulz ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Mykolaiv's jaw. Mykolaiv's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Schulz does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wilfried Schulz!
