Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Vercosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vercosa has chosen Judaria - Menor do Chapa as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rodrigo Johnson had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Johnson is in close to Vercosa's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vercosa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Johnson cracks Vercosa with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vercosa is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Vercosa looks gassed!
Johnson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Vercosa is working to avoid the ground and pound but Johnson connects with a decent elbow.
Johnson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vercosa some visible discomfort.
Johnson wants to control but Vercosa is keeping him busy.
Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Vercosa is defending well.
Johnson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Vercosa is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Vercosa is looking for a sweep.
Johnson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Johnson scores with punches from side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vercosa is not content to let Johnson control the position.

Johnson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vercosa looks calm but he's in trouble here. Johnson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vercosa is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Johnson lets go of the hold and Vercosa can pop his arm back in it's socket.
