Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benji Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Saxon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Saxon's choice of entrance music: Rammstein-kokain. Karl Saxon acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Benji Gable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karl Saxon!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gable fails with an attempt to clinch.
Saxon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gable circles away.
No joy there for Gable, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gable lands a jab-cross combination.
Saxon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Saxon scores with a shot to the body.
Saxon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gable misses the jab.
Gable will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Saxon wants to control from the top but Gable keeps moving.

Saxon prevents Gable from getting back to his feet.
Saxon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Saxon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gable swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Saxon moves out of range of the strikes.

Saxon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Saxon misses with a head shot. Gable uses the momentum to regain guard.

Saxon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Saxon looking to sit in guard and control but Gable gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gable trying to control but Saxon is working from the bottom.
Gable throws a strike but Saxon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Saxon with a flurry of punches that miss.
Saxon throws a big right hand that misses.
Gable is looking to stand up but Saxon isn't so interested in that idea.
Saxon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Saxon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gable manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Saxon has Gable in his guard.
Saxon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saxon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Saxon is adopting a defensive guard.
Gable landing with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Saxon dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gable tries to clinch up.
Gable attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
The fighters circle momentarily. Saxon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Gable displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Saxon throws out the jab.
Gable tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saxon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gable is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Saxon wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Saxon slips a jab and a cross from Gable.
Gable takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Saxon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Saxon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Saxon shoots in looking for a takedown. Gable tries to sprawl out of it but Saxon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gable manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gable tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saxon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Saxon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gable pinned against the cage. Gable gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gable is looking to clinch but Saxon is avoiding it.
Gable misses with an uppercut. Saxon saw that one coming.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saxon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gable manages to avoid it.
Saxon connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gable moves forwards but Saxon connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Gable moves in looking to clinch but Saxon pushes him off.

Benji Gable is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Saxon lunges at Gable with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gable's hand.
Benji Gable seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Benji Gable has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Saxon.
Saxon throws a hook but Gable avoids it easily.
