Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Filitov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikhail Filitov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Filitov!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kent scoring with strikes but Filitov is staying in there.
Kent looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Filitov really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kent controlling from mount.

Filitov bucks Kent off and manages to get back to his feet!
Filitov looks gassed!
Filitov is looking to clinch.
Filitov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kent. Kent obviously looking to wear him down.

Kent fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Filitov, pushing him back against the cage.

Kent jumps into guard, dragging Filitov to the mat.
Filitov tries to free his leg and advance position but Kent is retaining full guard.
Kent really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kent striking off his back but it's not causing Filitov any problems.
Kent seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kent knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Filitov on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Filitov is one step ahead there.
Kent is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kent content to control rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Scott Kent.

Kent gets a clinch.

Kent manages to break the clinch.

Kent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Filitov's guard.
Filitov is trying to keep Kent in close.
Filitov looking for a sweep. Not yet Filitov, not yet.
Kent is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Kent decides to stand back up.

Kent moves into range and connects with a jab.

Kent drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kent stays in close to Filitov's body and controls the position.
Kent scoring with punches to the head and body.
Kent seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kent passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Filitov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Filitov tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kent tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Filitov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Kent stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kent is pressing down on Filitov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Filitov is holding on for now.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kent in particular looking to stall.
Filitov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kent wants to stand up but Filitov is controlling the position.
Filitov wants to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kent keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Kent lands with a punch from half guard.
Kent tries to pass the half guard into mount. Filitov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Filitov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kent counters with a left and a right that stings Filitov.
Filitov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kent lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Filitov wants to sweep here but Kent controlling him for the moment.

Kent wants to stand and escape but instead Filitov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kent looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kent will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Filitov looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kent keeping moving, preventing Filitov from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Filitov is looking to get to half guard.
BOOM! Kent connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kent has hold of Filitov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Filitov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Filitov is wriggling around trying to escape.
Filitov is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Kent with the ground and pound from mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kent controlling his opponent.
Kent with shots to the head and body - Filitov looks very uncomfortable down there.
Kent looking to control and managing it successfully.
Filitov can't escape the position.

Kent is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Filitov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Filitov tries to lock up and control but Kent gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Filitov is looking to improve his position but Kent isn't that keen on the idea.
Kent landing strikes, looking to finish!
Kent takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Scott Kent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Filitov tries to hold on but Kent pushes him away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kent controlling from mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Scott Kent showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kent has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
