PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clarence Azarcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny McSayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McSayer has chosen Last Resort - Papa Roach as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McSayer shoots in and bounces Azarcon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Azarcon has his foot on McSayer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McSayer works his way back into a safe position though.
Azarcon wants to sweep here but McSayer controlling him for the moment.

McSayer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Azarcon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McSayer stands up over Azarcon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

McSayer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McSayer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
McSayer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McSayer throws and elbow that misses. Azarcon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McSayer's guard. Nice move by Azarcon!

Azarcon wants to control from the top but McSayer keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McSayer is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Azarcon wants to control from the top but McSayer keeps moving.
Azarcon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McSayer uses the cage to get back to his feet.

McSayer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

McSayer decides to stand up.

Azarcon gets caught flat footed, as McSayer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Azarcon is looking for a triangle but McSayer pushes his legs off easily.

McSayer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

McSayer has an Americana. Azarcon didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! McSayer is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if McSayer hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
