Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Mashburn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Ovaltrades! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mashburn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ovaltrades misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mashburn with a poor takedown and Ovaltrades decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mashburn's guard. Mashburn keeping moving, preventing Ovaltrades from controlling successfully. Mashburn trying to keep a closed guard but Ovaltrades is proving a slippery customer.
Mashburn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ovaltrades thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mashburn keeping moving, preventing Ovaltrades from controlling successfully. Ovaltrades throws a strike but Mashburn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mashburn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mashburn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mashburn stuffs the takedown attempt from Ovaltrades. Ovaltrades gets slowly back to his feet. Ovaltrades gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mashburn counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ovaltrades's guard now. Harry Mashburn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Ovaltrades. Mashburn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ovaltrades will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mashburn stops Ovaltrades from standing up. Mashburn trying to control but Ovaltrades is working from the bottom. Mashburn passes Ovaltrades's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ovaltrades pushes Mashburn off and gets back to his feet. Mashburn closes the distance and clinches. Mashburn decides to pull guard. Ovaltrades thows a big elbow that misses. Ovaltrades is looking to work some ground and pound but Mashburn has wrist control. Mashburn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mashburn wants to get back to his feet but Ovaltrades is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ovaltrades is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ovaltrades trying to control the position from guard on top but Mashburn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ovaltrades, into his guard. Mashburn trying to control the position from guard on top but Ovaltrades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ovaltrades throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mashburn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mashburn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Harry Mashburn will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ovaltrades goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mashburn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ovaltrades's guard! Nice work there by Mashburn! Ovaltrades looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ovaltrades. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ovaltrades is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mashburn keeping moving, preventing Ovaltrades from controlling successfully. Mashburn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ovaltrades is one step ahead there. Ovaltrades trying to control but Mashburn is working from the bottom. Ovaltrades sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovaltrades trying to control the position from guard on top but Mashburn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ovaltrades slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ovaltrades thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ovaltrades wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mashburn, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ovaltrades goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mashburn has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ovaltrades but great work by Mashburn. Mashburn tries for a kimura but Ovaltrades is defending well. Ovaltrades manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ovaltrades seems to be working for a kimura but Mashburn defends the submission attempt. Ovaltrades is pressing down on Mashburn's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mashburn is holding on for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Ovaltrades showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Ovaltrades shoots in but no luck this time. Ovaltrades feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ovaltrades looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mashburn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ovaltrades missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mashburn is looking to stand back up but Ovaltrades counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mashburn. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mashburn is not content to let Ovaltrades control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovaltrades is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mashburn is just riding it out for now. Ovaltrades eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are battling for position here. Mashburn manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ovaltrades throws and elbow that misses. Mashburn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ovaltrades's guard. Nice move by Mashburn! Ovaltrades is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ovaltrades is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ovaltrades utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ovaltrades keeping moving, preventing Mashburn from controlling successfully. Ovaltrades is trying to keep Mashburn in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ovaltrades is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ovaltrades feints and then dives in with a takedown.
