Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Fibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mighty Mike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fibbs misses with the combination.
Fibbs throws a body kick that misses.
Fibbs motions for Mike to come forward. Fibbs throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Mike darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mike throwing shots but Fibbs is blocking nicely.
Mike should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fibbs is looking to improve his position.
Mike is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fibbs is just riding it out for now. Mike eventually gives up the hold.
Mike works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mike wants to control the pace but Fibbs is squirming around nicely.
Mike is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fibbs is surviving well by controlling Mike's body position as best he can.

Mike prevents Fibbs from getting the reversal.
Mike has hold of Fibbs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fibbs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fibbs really wants to buck Mike off and get back to his feet.
Mike throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Fibbs because Mike loaded up on that one.
Mike with a couple of short strikes.
Mike has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mike is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fibbs has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fibbs is squirming around, avoiding Mike's attempts to control the action.

Fibbs wants to get back to his feet.
Mike goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fibbs is on top in guard.

Mike uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Mike scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mike decides to stand back up.
Fibbs is breathing heavily.

Fibbs throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mike throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fibbs's waist but Fibbs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mike off to one side.
Fibbs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fibbs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mike is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fibbs's half guard.
Fibbs flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Mike is keen to just control but Fibbs is a slippery customer.
Mike passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fibbs!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fibbs is in a horrible position here. Mike smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Mike jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Fibbs manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fibbs is not content to let Mike control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mighty Mike dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Mike shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fibbs manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mike is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mike sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fibbs's guard.
Mike throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Fibbs is defending against the submission attempts here by Mike.
Fibbs is refusing to be controlled, as Mike sits in half guard.
Mike is looking to advance position but Fibbs won't allow it.

Mike is looking for a kimura but Fibbs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mike to get the leverage.
Fibbs tries to kick Mike off but Mike keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Fibbs is trying to get back to full guard.
Mike has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Fibbs defend it? Mike steps over the head and cranks it - Fibbs is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mike!
