Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jushin Kusanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bada Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kusanagi comes to the cage accompanied by Got The Life. Jushin Kusanagi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jushin Kusanagi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bada Boom! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom slips a jab and a cross from Kusanagi.
Boom misses with a takedown attempt - Kusanagi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Boom shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kusanagi pinned against the cage. Kusanagi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kusanagi swings for the body but Boom moves out of range.
Jushin Kusanagi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boom will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jushin Kusanagi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bada Boom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom fails to land the takedown. Boom shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kusanagi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boom. Boom circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Boom staying out of range there. Boom uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kusanagi. Kusanagi throws an overhand right that lands on Boom's shoulder, as Boom tries to avoid the shot. Kusanagi throws a shot from downtown. Boom moves away and avoids it. Kusanagi keeps Boom at a distance using the push kick. Kusanagi shoots in looking for a takedown. Boom tries to sprawl out of it but Kusanagi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boom manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Boom keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kusanagi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boom feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Boom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kusanagi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kusanagi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boom on the ground. Kusanagi has a closed guard, preventing Boom from standing up. Boom looking to pass the guard. Kusanagi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kusanagi keeping moving, preventing Boom from controlling successfully. Boom missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boom trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Boom looks gassed! Kusanagi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Boom with a lazy takedown attempt letting Kusanagi counter with a right hand. Boom tries to keep at a distance but Kusanagi has taken the fight into the clinch. Boom drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kusanagi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Boom ducks under a wild hook from Kusanagi. Kusanagi thows a left - swing and a miss! Kusanagi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kusanagi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Boom staying out of range there. Kusanagi misses with a wild body shot. Kusanagi ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kusanagi tries to clinch there but Boom circles away.
Kusanagi just misses with a punch to the body.
Boom tries for a takedown but Kusanagi circles away easily and Kusanagi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boom's guard. Kusanagi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kusanagi being controlled here momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jushin Kusanagi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kusanagi tries to work over Boom's front leg with a kick but Boom checks it. Kusanagi misses the jab. Boom keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kusanagi. Kusanagi waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Boom. A big left from Kusanagi misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kusanagi throws a lazy right hand but Boom sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kusanagi throws an overhand right that lands on Boom's shoulder, as Boom tries to avoid the shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boom darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boom seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Kusanagi has recovered full guard. Boom passes Kusanagi's left leg - he's now in half guard. Boom is trying to control the action in half guard but Kusanagi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Boom wants to free his trapped foot but Kusanagi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Boom is tying to control. Kusanagi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Boom looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Boom works his way into full mount! Boom trying to control but he's not successful this time. Boom is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Kusanagi is in real trouble.
Boom has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boom trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kusanagi doesn't escape. Kusanagi is having to fend off submission attempts from Boom, who is looking to sink in the choke. Boom doesn't have the hooks in though and Kusanagi manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Boom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kusanagi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Boom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kusanagi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kusanagi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boom is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kusanagi stopping the sweep attempt from Boom. Kusanagi has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Boom to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kusanagi is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Boom pulls down on the head and he's put Kusanagi to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bada Boom!
