And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pierre Le Pain!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Le Pain misses.

Hands clinches up against the cage.
Le Pain can't break the clinch.

Le Pain breaks the clinch.
Hands could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hands decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Le Pain tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Le Pain is staying active underneath Hands, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Le Pain moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Le Pain tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hands stands up and waves to Le Pain to follow him.
Le Pain fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hands on the side of the head.


It looks like Jimmy Hands has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hands throws a head kick that Le Pain semi-blocks.
Le Pain tries to bum rush Hands with a series of wild strikes but Hands uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Le Pain fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hands closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Le Pain won't allow Hands to pass to mount.

Hands looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hands is breathing heavily.
Le Pain tries to get to full guard but Hands has control of the leg.
Hands seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Le Pain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Le Pain wants to control but Hands is keeping busy.
Le Pain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A combination from Le Pain does no damage.
Hands fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hands walks into a jab.
Hands slips a jab and a cross from Le Pain.
Hands tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Le Pain has his takedown stuffed
and Hands counters with a solid body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hands looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Le Pain drops Hands with a left right combo! Le Pain follows him down to the ground into side control.


Hands is rocked!
Le Pain working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Oh Hands is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Le Pain lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hands down.
Hands on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Le Pain is looking to take a break and control but Hands is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hands wants to control but Le Pain postures up.

Hands sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Le Pain not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Le Pain blocks the strikes from Hands.
Hands seems to have got his legs back now.
Hands is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Le Pain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Le Pain's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Le Pain is trying to defend against the choke here but Hands has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Hands Tightens the hold and Le Pain taps out furiously! Hands displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jimmy Hands!
