The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackel misses with a hook. Rentillosa ducked under it nicely. Jackel looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Rentillosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rentillosa is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackel has wrist control. Rentillosa looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rentillosa forces his way into half guard. Rentillosa is pressing down on Jackel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackel is holding on for now. Rentillosa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rentillosa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackel's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rentillosa is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jackel! Jackel has left one of his arms exposed and Rentillosa doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Jackel screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dennis Rentillosa!
