Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Witts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darth Drizzit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Witts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darth Drizzit!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping body kick lands there for Witts.

Witts gets caught flat footed, as Drizzit shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Drizzit looks gassed!
Witts is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Witts passes to side control.
Witts moves into full mount!
Witts lands with some strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Witts putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Witts looking to control and managing it successfully.
Witts lands a big elbow.

Witts sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Drizzit is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You get the feeling that Drizzit really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Witts lands a heavy elbow.
Witts controlling from mount.
Drizzit is looking to get to half guard.

Witts controlling the position easily from mount.
Drizzit tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Witts with a couple of short strikes.
Drizzit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Witts. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Drizzit in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Drizzit wants to hold on but Witts pushes him away.

Witts lands a nice shot to the head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Witts stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
No luck for Drizzit with that takedown attempt.
Witts goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Witts throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Witts. No joy for Drizzit on that attempt.
Witts fails with the takedown.
Drizzit scores with a nice body kick.
Drizzit keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Witts is trying to stand.
Witts is staying active underneath Drizzit, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Witts is looking for a sweep. Drizzit is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Witts is trying to control but can't.
Drizzit working the head and body with strikes.
Drizzit stalling away here and it's allowed Witts to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Witts looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Drizzit wants to clinch up but Witts keeps it at a distance.
Drizzit tries to close the distance and clinch up but Witts swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Witts doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Drizzit counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Witts misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Witts moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Drizzit lands a couple of digs.
Witts is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Witts keeping moving, preventing Drizzit from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Drizzit keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Witts's head.

Drizzit trying to control the position from guard on top but Witts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Drizzit cracks Witts with a solid left hand.
Drizzit tries to stand but Witts is controlling from the bottom.

Drizzit is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Drizzit fails with an attempt to clinch.

Witts closes the distance and pushes Drizzit back into the cage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Drizzit swings wildly with an uppercut but Witts uses good head movement to avoid it.
Drizzit can't get the takedown.
Drizzit wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Witts is pressed up against the cage. Drizzit has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Witts down to the mat. Witts avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Witts misses with a takedown

and Drizzit counters with a shoot takedown. Witts fights it but they end up in guard.
Drizzit postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Drizzit wants to control from the top but Witts keeps moving.

Witts pushes Drizzit off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Drizzit closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Witts did well to prevent Drizzit getting side control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Drizzit lands a nice short elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drizzit is looking to pass Witts's guard but actually Witts recovers to full guard.
Drizzit trying to control the position from guard on top but Witts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Witts wants to get back to his feet but Drizzit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Drizzit tries to stand but Witts is controlling from the bottom.
Witts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Witts lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Drizzit!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Drizzit tries to hold on but Witts pushes him away.
Drizzit is working to get back to half guard.
Drizzit is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Drizzit is desperately trying to improve his position but Witts has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darth Drizzit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Drizzit shoots in for a takedown but Witts shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Witts gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Drizzit counters with a takedown into side control.
Drizzit trying to control the position but Witts is working away.
Drizzit in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Drizzit landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Witts manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Drizzit is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Witts pulls his head out easily.
Drizzit avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Witts.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Drizzit wants to get back to his feet.
Witts is looking to take a break and control but Drizzit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Drizzit is kicking away at Witts from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Witts grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Drizzit trying to push Witts off... Drizzit taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
