Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zac Fair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunes comes into the arena with Alive blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zac Fair!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Fair as Nunes shoots in.
Nunes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nunes has momentary wrist control but Fair slips an elbow through the middle.

Nunes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fair manages to get himself to full guard.

Nunes wants to get up but he can't break Fair's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Nunes wants to stand and escape but instead Fair has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Fair loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fair swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nunes is now in Fair's guard. A big mistake from Fair there, giving up the dominant position!
Fair has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Nunes stays in close to Fair's body and controls the position.

Zac Fair showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Fair throws and elbow that misses. Nunes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fair's guard. Nice move by Nunes!

Nunes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fair has his foot on Nunes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nunes works his way back into a safe position though.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nunes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nunes lands in his opponent's guard.

Nunes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fair, up you get!

Fair thows a huge punch but Nunes dodges it nicely.

Nunes tries to get to full guard but Fair has control of the leg.

Nunes takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Fair is working to tighten is grip on Nunes's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nunes has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Fair is really squeezing tight and eventually Nunes passes out! Fair breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Zac Fair!
