Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Human Blanket! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perry Pattenson! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blanket tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pattenson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blanket somewhat. Pattenson throws a head kick that Blanket semi-blocks.
Blanket circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blanket looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Blanket takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Blanket fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Human Blanket. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blanket missing with a left hand there. Pattenson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pattenson wants to clinch up but Blanket keeps it at a distance. Blanket shoots in for a takedown but Pattenson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pattenson is looking to clinch but Blanket is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blanket drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pattenson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Blanket off and has taken his back! Pattenson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Blanket defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Pattenson tries to get the hooks in deep but Blanket pushed the leg off. Pattenson tightening his grip on Blanket, looking for the choke. Pattenson tries to keep control of the position but Blanket is staying busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pattenson is trying to stick to Blanket's back but Blanket is turning into Pattenson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pattenson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Blanket. Blanket lands a couple of elbows. Pattenson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Blanket knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pattenson on the ground. Blanket landing with the ground and pound. Blanket forces his way into half guard. Blanket working Pattenson over with strikes. Blanket not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blanket lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Blanket not landing any meaningful shots this time. Blanket sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pattenson defending well though. Pattenson wants to get back to full guard. Pattenson looks gassed! Blanket thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pattenson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Blanket. Pattenson wants to stand and escape but Blanket is having none of it. Pattenson working a defensive guard here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Pattenson throws a combination. Blanket tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blanket gets the takedown into side control. Pattenson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Pattenson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Blanket grinds an elbow into Pattenson's temple. Check out the look on Blanket's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Pattenson is looking for a sweep. Blanket landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Blanket landing a few strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pattenson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Blanket lands a few punches from side control. Blanket working the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Human Blanket dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
