Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Danes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcel Madnick! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A jab from Madnick misses. Danes blocks a jab. The fight stays on the outside here - Danes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Danes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Madnick. Danes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Madnick defends it nicely. Danes moves away from the strike by Madnick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Danes is defended easily by Madnick. Danes dodges the punch combination from Madnick.
Danes tries for a takedown but Madnick sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Danes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Danes is breathing heavily. Madnick looks to throw the jab but Danes is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Madnick throws out the jab. Madnick throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Danes tumbling to the canvas! Madnick pushing down on Danes's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Madnick wants to free his trapped foot but Danes is holding on for dear life with his legs. Madnick tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Madnick content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Madnick wants to pass the guard but Danes is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Madnick stands up from half guard. Danes fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Madnick scores with the left hand. Danes knows he should have avoided that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Madnick is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Danes. Madnick misses with a hook. Danes ducked under it nicely. Madnick throws a looping overhand right but Danes ducks down to avoid it. Danes slips a straight right by Madnick. Madnick scores with a nice strike. Marcel Madnick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Danes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Madnick as he jumps to the side. Madnick lands the left hand. Danes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Danes throws a sloppy head kick and Madnick moves out of range easily. Madnick circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Danes to the canvas! Danes doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Madnick keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
