Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Hastings! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sebastien Roy! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Roy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hastings defends it nicely. Hastings gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Roy counters by moving into the clinch. Roy trying to control the position but instead, Hastings has worked for underhooks and has pushed Roy into the cage. Roy throws an elbow but it misses.

Hastings tries to pull guard but Roy holds him up against the cage and eventually Hastings drops back down to his feet.

Roy gets a clinch. Roy is trying to drag Hastings to the mat but Hastings just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hastings jumps guard and drags Roy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Roy trying to control but Hastings is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Roy tries to free his leg and advance position but Hastings is retaining full guard. Roy looking to sit in guard and control but Hastings gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hastings drops back looking for a leg! Roy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roy manages to kick Hastings off! Hastings jumps back into Roy's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hastings is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Roy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Roy scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Roy moves in looking to clinch but Hastings pushes him off. Hastings wants to clinch but Roy slips to the side and Roy makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hastings really felt that one! Hastings closes the distance but Roy moves to the side and Roy counters by clinching up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roy using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hastings has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Roy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hastings tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Roy avoids it. Hastings tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Hastings is breathing heavily. Roy is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Roy lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Hastings tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Roy just stands there and leans against the cage. Hastings tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Roy smiles and moves away.

Hastings looks to clinch and Roy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hastings won't be happy with that. Roy moves into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roy trying to control but he's not successful this time. Roy wants to stand but Hastings is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Roy content just to control the position here. Hastings can't escape the position.

Sebastien Roy dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sebastien Roy's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hastings wants to clinch but Roy slips to the side and Roy counters with a two punch combo. Hastings clinches but Roy breaks the clinch and Roy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Roy. Hastings has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hastings keeping moving, preventing Roy from controlling successfully. Hastings looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Roy passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Roy wants to control but Hastings is keeping him busy. Hastings is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roy pulls his head out easily. Roy wants to take a breather but Hastings is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Roy works his foot free and advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Roy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hastings swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roy trying to control the position from guard on top but Hastings is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hastings has his foot on Roy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roy works his way back into a safe position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Roy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hastings is proving hard to escape from. Alex Hastings has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hastings swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roy looking to sit in guard and control but Hastings gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Sebastien Roy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hastings thows a big elbow that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Hastings showed his dominance in that final round. Well Roy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
