Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jucilei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jucilei Silva struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gomez to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Jucilei Silva has been cut.
Gomez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gomez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gomez misses with an uppercut.
Gomez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Silva.
Gomez throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.
A big right from Gomez misses.
Gomez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Gomez lands a left and a right that send Silva crashing to the mat, dazed. Gomez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Silva is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gomez misses with a leg kick.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Gomez finish him?
Gomez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Silva. That did some damage!
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Silva ducks under a wild hook from Gomez.

Gomez misses the shot to the body.
Gomez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Roger Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.
Gomez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gomez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gomez lands a big uppercut and Silva crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Silva looks OK. Gomez waves Silva back to his feet!
Gomez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Silva steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gomez.
Gomez thows a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva moves forwards but Gomez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gomez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
BOOM! Gomez lands a beautiful left hook that drops Silva. Silva tries to recover but Gomez is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Silva lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Gomez!
