Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Simons III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Hitana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Simons III has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Simons III seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitana slaps away a takedown attempt from Simons III, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Simons III shoots for a takedown but Hitana saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Simons III moves into the clinch.
Simons III taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Simons III tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hitana just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Simons III. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hitana tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Simons III avoids it.
Simons III jumps guard but Hitana stands there with Simons III around his waist. Simons III gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hitana lands an elbow that stopped Simons III in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like John Simons III has been cut.
Simons III takes a knee to the side of the body.

Simons III jumps guard and drags Hitana to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hitana advances to full mount.
Simons III is trying desperately to improve position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hitana tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Simons III is desperately trying to improve his position but Hitana has a good base and remains in mount.
Hitana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simons III. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hitana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Simons III slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Simons III is looking for a sweep. Hitana is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Simons III has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hitana. Oh but Simons III has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hitana goes limp - he's gone! Simons III jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
