Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Ovaltrades! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz keeps the fight on the outside. Diaz throws a right hand that Ovaltrades ducks under and follows up with a left that Ovaltrades also avoids with ease. Diaz misses with a wild combination.
Diaz throws a head kick but Ovaltrades moves out of range.
Ovaltrades tries to clinch but Diaz is having none of it. Ovaltrades is looking to clinch but Diaz is avoiding it.
Ovaltrades closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ovaltrades looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz sneaks out the side door and pushes Ovaltrades away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and Ovaltrades moves out of range easily. Ovaltrades moves out of range as Diaz throws a body kick.
Ovaltrades shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Ovaltrades tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ovaltrades jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Diaz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Diaz and Ovaltrades has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Ovaltrades fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ovaltrades throwing shots but missing, from side control. Ovaltrades is staying tight to Diaz's torso, preventing him from escaping. Ovaltrades has hold of Diaz's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Diaz tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Ovaltrades cranks the arm and Diaz screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Diaz, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
