Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brick Lesnir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alan Jhones!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnir misses with a hook.
Jhones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Alan Jhones has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Good standup being displayed there by Jhones as he connects with a hook.
Lesnir rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jhones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jhones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lesnir.
Lesnir tries to clinch up.
Jhones lands a nice hook to Lesnir's body. Lesnir takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jhones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lesnir moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jhones keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lesnir closes the distance looking to clinch
and Jhones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jhones.
Jhones working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Lesnir is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jhones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
A nice right hand lands inside from Jhones.
Lesnir is breathing heavily.
Jhones lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lesnir backwards.
Lesnir throws a punch but it's blocked by Jhones.
Lesnir is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jhones can't fight it off and eventually Lesnir manages to take the fight to the floor. Jhones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lesnir tries to free his leg and advance position but Jhones is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jhones uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jhones walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Lesnir drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Jhones swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Lesnir's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alan Jhones!
