Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zach Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pitbull Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitbull Alves has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Acton feints and as Alves raises his hands in defense, Acton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Alves isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Acton stacks Alves on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Acton!
Alves tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Acton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alves wants to get back to his feet but Acton drags him back down.
Alves is looking for a sweep.

Acton remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Alves is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Acton asserts his dominance and retains side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Acton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Acton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Acton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Acton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alves keeps working.
Alves is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Alves is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Acton off and has taken his back!

Alves is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Acton is defending well though. Alves let's go of the attempt for now.
