Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wayne Anderson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Castro throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Anderson is not content to let Castro control the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Anderson regains full guard. Nicely done. Castro won't allow Anderson to sweep him here. Castro wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Anderson trying to control the position here. Anderson looking for a sweep. Not yet Anderson, not yet. That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Castro defends well. Castro trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom. Castro trying to move into half guard but instead Anderson has managed to sweep! Castro keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully. Castro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Castro is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Anderson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Anderson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Anderson prevents Castro from getting back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Castro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anderson pinned against the cage. Anderson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Castro slaps away a takedown attempt from Anderson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Anderson looks to score with a jab to the body but Castro is just out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Castro displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anderson. Fidel Castro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Anderson. Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Castro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat. Castro lands a slapping body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Castro gets caught flat footed, as Anderson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Anderson stopping the sweep attempt from Castro. Castro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Castro works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wayne Anderson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Anderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Anderson fails to land the takedown. Fidel Castro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Castro tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Castro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Anderson is looking to clinch. No joy there for Anderson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Castro slaps away a takedown attempt from Anderson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Fidel Castro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Anderson. Castro moves into range and clinches up with Anderson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castro tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Anderson avoids it. Anderson is trying to maintain a safe position but Castro gets an underhook and turns Anderson into the ropes. Castro tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Castro just leaning against Anderson, taking a breather. Castro tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Anderson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Castro! Castro is trying desperately to improve position. Castro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Castro wants to hold on but Anderson pushes him away. Anderson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castro tries to reverse the position but Anderson maintains control. Anderson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Castro is looking to escape. Castro tries to lock up and control but Anderson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Castro working to try and regain half guard.
Anderson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Castro wants to control but Anderson is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Anderson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Castro is squirming around, avoiding Anderson's attempts to control the action. Castro wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Anderson lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. Anderson trying to control. Anderson is hanging on to Castro's back as he tries to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castro prevents Anderson from getting a body triangle. Anderson controlling from the back. Castro is keeping busy.
Well, with Anderson on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Castro is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Castro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anderson thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wayne Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Castro takes the fight into the clinch. Castro keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Anderson's efforts to push away. Anderson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Castro on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Castro tries to get out of the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Wayne Anderson. Anderson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Anderson lands strikes from half guard. Castro is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Castro wants to get back to full guard but Anderson has passed into side control. Anderson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Castro is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castro tries to control the position but Anderson now has his back.
Anderson tries to get the hooks in deep but Castro pushed the leg off. Castro is trying to stand back up. Will Anderson go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Castro is really stuck here.
Castro wants to control his opponent's hands but Anderson gets his hands free. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Anderson is cranking Castro's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Castro! He's tightened the choke and Castro is tapping out!
