Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Held (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loki Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Held comes to the cage accompanied by pantera - floods. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Loki Andersen enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bill Held!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Loki Andersen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Held fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Andersen, pushing him back against the cage.
Held is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Andersen is keeping busy.

Andersen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Held rushes Andersen and presses him up against the cage.
Held manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Andersen misses with an elbow over the top.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Held.
Andersen tries to work over Held's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Held digs a right hand underneath Andersen's ribcage. Andersen let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Andersen scores with a nice hook to the head.

Andersen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Held circles away from the clinch attempt

and Held counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Held decides to stand back up. Held steps back and let's Andersen get back to his feet.
Andersen throws a combination that misses

and Held moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Andersen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Held breaks the clinch.
Andersen misses with a takedown

and Held counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Held.
Andersen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Held.

Held tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Andersen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Held lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Andersen looking to throw knees to the head but Held is blocking nicely.
Held lands an uppercut.
Held has Andersen pushed against the cage.
Andersen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Andersen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Held prevents it.
Andersen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Held has Andersen pushed against the cage.
Andersen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bill Held has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Loki Andersen.

Held manages to break the clinch.

and Held decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Andersen's guard.

Andersen throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Held trying to control the position from guard on top but Andersen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Held not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Held controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Held lands a front kick.
Andersen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Held backs up against the cage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Held!
Andersen darts in trying to clinch
and Held counters with a three punch combo that has Andersen backing up. Andersen nods at Held to acknowledge the strikes.
Loki Andersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Andersen closes the distance looking to clinch

and Held holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A short body shot lands from Held as the two fighters clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Andersen with a knee to the head.
Held is trying to maintain a safe position but Andersen gets an underhook and turns Held into the cage.
Andersen takes a knee to the side of the body.
Held lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Andersen backwards.
Held lands a hook that snaps the head of Andersen backwards.
Andersen tries to land knees in the clinch but Held avoids the damage to the body.
Andersen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Held avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Held tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Andersen smiles and moves away.

enabling Held to counter with a crisp jab.

and Held counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Held wants to pass the guard but Andersen is keeping the position.
Andersen keeping moving, preventing Held from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Held trying to move into half guard but instead Andersen has managed to sweep!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bill Held dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Held counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Held is trying to control the action in half guard but Andersen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Andersen wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Held slips a nice elbow through Andersen's hands, connecting with Andersen's forehead.
Andersen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Held takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Held looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Held decides to stand and escape the position.
Andersen is breathing heavily.
Andersen with a poor takedown
and Held counters with an outside leg kick.

Held shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Held stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Andersen to get to his feet.
Andersen misses with a double jab

and Held counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Held.
Andersen takes a shot to the head.
A short body shot lands from Held as the two fighters clinch.
Held lands a body punch.
Held crunches a lovely knee into Andersen's ribcage.

Held breaks the clinch.
Andersen with a poor takedown
and Held makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Andersen really felt that one!

Held drives through and clinches with Andersen against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Held.
Held throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Andersen has had enough of the clinch but Held keeps him there for the moment.

Held ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Held no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Held kicks Andersen off and gets to his feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Held.
Andersen tries for a takedown but Held circles away easily
and Held counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Andersen thinking.

A solid leg kick lands there for Held.

Held has closed the distance and engaged Andersen in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Held takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Andersen wants to get back to striking at distance but Held won't allow it.

Andersen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Held wants to stand and escape but Andersen is having none of it.
Andersen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Andersen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Held is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Andersen is controlling him.
Bill Held overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Held holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Held lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Andersen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Held keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Andersen's efforts to push away.

Held postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Held decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Andersen, up you get!

Held rushes Andersen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

and Held holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Andersen wants to control from the top but Held keeps moving.

Held is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Held tightens his grip and picks Andersen up, before dumping him to the ground. Andersen manages to land in guard.
Held is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Andersen can do to turn this around?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Held keeping moving, preventing Andersen from controlling successfully.
Held might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bill Held showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Held has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
