Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Quiny!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alunan fails to land the takedown.

Quiny has managed to clinch.

Quiny gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Quiny throwing strikes but missing.
Quiny wants to control from the top but Alunan keeps moving.
Quiny tries to stand but Alunan is controlling from the bottom.
Quiny wants to control from the top but Alunan keeps moving.
Alunan keeping full guard, as Quiny tries to pass.

Alunan working for a triangle but Quiny defends it easily.
Quiny thows a big elbow that misses.
Alunan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quiny trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Quiny postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Quiny thows a big elbow that misses.

Quiny drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alunan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Quiny has Alunan in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alunan passes into half guard.

Alunan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Alunan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Quiny is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Alunan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Quiny doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alunan.

Alunan is working for a kimura but Quiny is defending it quite comfortably.
Alunan is breathing heavily.
Quiny is trying to stand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Alunan is looking for a kimura but Quiny is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alunan to get the leverage.
Alunan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Quiny!

Alunan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Quiny is on top in guard.
Quiny working some strikes from top position.
Quiny pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alunan is keeping the position for now.
Alunan is pulling down on Quiny's head. It's preventing any offense from Quiny, at least for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Quiny will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Quiny throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Quiny feints and as Alunan raises his hands in defense, Quiny changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Quiny slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Alunan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Quiny is looking to take a break and control but Alunan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Quiny is trying to ground and pound but Alunan uses the momentary lack of control by Quiny to regain half guard.
Quiny trying to control the pace.
Let's hope that Quiny has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Quiny not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Alunan moves into full guard.
Quiny sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Quiny is looking to advance position but Alunan has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Alunan has isolated one of Quiny's arms. Quiny looking to fight him off but Alunan twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
