Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Couture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russel Feingold!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Feingold displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Couture throws out the jab.
Couture looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Couture wants to control from the top but Feingold keeps moving.
Feingold trying to keep a closed guard but Couture is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Feingold has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Couture can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Feingold is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Couture is aware though and is defending well.
Feingold isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Couture stacks Feingold on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Couture!

Couture has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Feingold's body.

I really don't envy Feingold right now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Feingold wants to escape the position.
Feingold looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Couture biding his time, looking for the opening.
Feingold trying to control the hands but Couture won't let him.
Couture really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Feingold.
Couture doesn't have the hooks in and Feingold manages to turn into his guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tyson Couture.

and Couture counters with a shoot takedown. Feingold fights it but they end up in guard.

Feingold is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Feingold is looking to take a break and control but Couture is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Feingold thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Couture's head.
Couture is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Feingold's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Feingold's back!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Feingold lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Couture circles away quickly and effectively.

Feingold looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Couture has picked Feingold up and slammed him! Feingold can't keep hold of the triangle and Couture manages to pass to side control!
Feingold tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Couture wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Couture has hold of Feingold's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Feingold manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Feingold is squirming around, avoiding Couture's attempts to control the action.

Feingold defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Couture's arms.
Couture gets his hands free as Feingold looks to control.
Couture is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Feingold wants to control his opponent's hands but Couture gets his hands free.

Feingold staying busy and making it hard for Couture to control.
Couture is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Feingold is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Couture controls the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Tyson Couture just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Couture wants to slow Feingold down by chopping away at his legs.
Couture slips a jab and a cross from Feingold.
Feingold gets the takedown into side control.
Feingold looks up at the clock and then as Couture takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Feingold smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Feingold is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Couture has escaped the position, nice work there.
Couture is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Feingold off and has taken his back!
Couture will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Feingold is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Feingold manages to reverse the position and now he's in Couture's guard. Nice work there by Feingold.
Couture not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Feingold is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Couture is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Couture has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Feingold swats away the attempt to clinch by Couture.
Feingold changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Couture looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Feingold wants to lay and pray for a moment but Couture keeps working.
Couture manages to get back to half guard.
Couture gets back to full guard.
Feingold tries to free his leg and advance position but Couture is retaining full guard.
Feingold takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Feingold sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Couture's guard.
Couture is trying to maintain the position but Feingold is very close to passing his half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Feingold connects with a nice short shot to Couture's temple.
Couture is looking for a sweep. Feingold is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Feingold looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Couture trying to control from the bottom.
Feingold is just content to waste time from the top position. Couture takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Feingold postures up.
Feingold throwing strikes but missing.

Feingold throws a big right hand that misses.
Couture looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Feingold darts in and clinches Couture up against the cage.
Feingold is pressed up against the cage. Couture has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Feingold down to the mat. Feingold avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Couture counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Couture tries to pass the half guard into mount. Feingold knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Feingold is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Couture pulls his head out easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyson Couture.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Couture, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
