Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melo comes to the cage accompanied by Who let the dogs out. The crowd seem to be enjoying Polo's choice of entrance music: Mind, Body, & Soul. Marco Polo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polo closes the distance and pushes Melo back into the cage.

Polo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Melo pulls him back up using the underhooks.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Melo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Polo has Melo pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Polo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Melo tumbling to the mat - Polo dives into Melo's guard.

Polo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
It looks like Victor Melo has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Polo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Melo's shoulder. That is not cool.
Polo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Polo is working to tighten is grip on Melo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Melo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Polo is really squeezing tight and eventually Melo passes out! Polo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
