The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Sputnik. kiklov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sputnik getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

A slow jab from Sputnik misses its intended target.

Sputnik drops kiklov with a beautiful combination! kiklov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sputnik is looking for the KO!

kiklov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sputnik was covering up waiting for the punch and kiklov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
kiklov seems to have recovered his senses.

kiklov tries to stand but Sputnik is controlling from the bottom.

kiklov wants to get up but he can't break Sputnik's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
kiklov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sputnik, up you get!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from kiklov.
kiklov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sputnik napping and manages to drive through into side control!

kiklov tries to stand but Sputnik controls the position and pulls kiklov into his guard.
Sputnik wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Nice sprawl there from Sputnik as kiklov shoots in.
Sputnik takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
kiklov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sputnik looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sputnik manages to work his way to half guard, despite kiklov's best efforts.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
kiklov shoots in and bounces Sputnik off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

kiklov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
kiklov tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

kiklov decides to stand back up. kiklov steps back and let's Sputnik get back to his feet.
Sputnik throws a nice looking combination but kiklov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Sputnik leaves kiklov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sputnik misses with a body shot.
Sputnik throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sputnik fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Sputnik. That snapped kiklov's head back.
Sputnik connects with a crisp jab.
Sputnik displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Sputnik walks forward and throws a big overhand right! kiklov drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Sputnik swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from kiklov's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vladimir Sputnik!
