Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Priste (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flying Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flying Phoenix will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Priste!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Flying Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix shoots in for a takedown but Priste shows good takedown defense.
Phoenix blocks the body kick.
Phoenix with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Priste to score with a decent uppercut.
Priste cracks Phoenix with a right hand to the side of the head.
Priste throws a sloppy head kick and Phoenix moves out of range easily.

Phoenix shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Priste is trying to defend but Phoenix finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Priste is looking to improve his position.
Phoenix keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Priste is trying to maintain the position but Phoenix is very close to passing his half guard.
Priste is refusing to be controlled, as Phoenix sits in half guard.

Phoenix is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Phoenix sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Priste working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Priste is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Phoenix jumps into side control!

Phoenix tries for a kimura but Priste is defending well.
Priste might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Priste is looking to regain half guard here but Phoenix keeps moving and retains side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Priste changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Phoenix looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Priste throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Priste counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Priste feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Priste got a little sloppy there for a moment and Phoenix has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Priste has managed to get both his arms back between Phoenix's legs - danger averted.

Phoenix maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Priste could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Phoenix has cracked it and Priste is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Phoenix!
