Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Necro Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Barera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Necro Butcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Barera!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barera wants to clinch up but Butcher keeps it at a distance.
Barera doesn't manage to clinch there - Butcher circles away.

Barera closes the distance and pushes Butcher back into the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Butcher.
Butcher wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Butcher is trying to break free.

Butcher manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Butcher or perhaps it was just good defense by Barera which made him look bad.
Barera tries for a takedown but Butcher circles away easily

and Butcher counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Butcher thows a huge punch but Barera dodges it nicely.

Butcher is working for a submission of some sort.

Butcher looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Butcher is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Butcher takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Barera looks like he's trying to stand up.
Barera is trying to maintain the position but Butcher is very close to passing his half guard.
Barera is refusing to be controlled, as Butcher sits in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Barera throws a jab when Butcher was well out of range.

Butcher drives through and clinches with Barera against the cage.

Barera breaks from the clinch.
Butcher misses with a takedown attempt - Barera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Butcher holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Barera cracks Butcher with a nice body shot.
Butcher is breathing heavily.
Barera stops a takedown attempt from Butcher.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Necro Butcher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A right hook to the body lands for Barera.
Barera changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Butcher fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Barera closes the distance and clinches.
Butcher is trying to break the clinch but Barera is controlling him.
Butcher wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Barera keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Butcher's efforts to push away.

Barera turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barera manages to end up in side control.
Butcher is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Barera's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Butcher wants to stand up but Barera is controlling him.

Necro Butcher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Butcher connects with the punch.
Butcher tries to close the distance and clinch but Barera swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Barera counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Butcher controls Barera momentarily but Barera frees himself.
Butcher is really struggling to control Barera but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Barera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Barera content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Butcher is trying to keep Barera in close.

Butcher kicks Barera off and gets to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Barera. No joy for Butcher on that attempt.

Barera rushes Butcher and presses him up against the cage.

Butcher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

so Barera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Butcher pulls Barera in close to prevent any damage.
Barera lands a couple of elbows.

Butcher has his feet on Barera's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Butcher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barera manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Butcher not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Butcher looking to sit in guard and control but Barera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Butcher wants to sweep here but Barera controlling him for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Butcher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barera's guard.
Butcher advances to half guard.
Butcher not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Barera is not content to let Butcher control the position.
Barera is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antonio Barera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Butcher closes the distance looking to clinch

and Barera counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Butcher!
Butcher tries to reverse the position but Barera maintains control.
Butcher has given up his back here.
Barera is looking to control Butcher but Butcher is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Barera doesn't have the hooks in and Butcher manages to turn into his guard.
Barera trying to keep a closed guard but Butcher is proving a slippery customer.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Butcher looking to pass the guard.

Barera keeping moving, preventing Butcher from controlling successfully.

Butcher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Butcher has managed to get both his arms back between Barera's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Barera gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Butcher to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Barera wants to stand but Butcher is controlling the position.
Barera looking to hit a scissor sweep but Butcher is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Butcher gets to his feet. Barera looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Butcher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barera was covering up waiting for the punch and Butcher finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Butcher looking to sit in guard and control but Barera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Barera drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Butcher dives on top into guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Butcher wants to control from the top but Barera keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Necro Butcher.

Barera tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Butcher shoots and misses

and Barera counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Barera landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Antonio Barera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Barera has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
