PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sean Shane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Jobber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jobber has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Sean Shane looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Shane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 53 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mr Jobber!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jobber tries to clinch there but Shane circles away.
Mr Jobber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shane looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Shane shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jobber manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Shane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jobber throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sean Shane.
Jobber doesn't manage to clinch there - Shane circles away.
Shane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Shane throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jobber was covering up waiting for the punch and Shane finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Shane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jobber did well to prevent Shane getting side control.
Well, if Shane is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Shane's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Shane seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jobber for as long as he can get away with.

Shane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jobber's guard.

Jobber strikes from the bottom but Shane uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Shane has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jobber gets caught flat footed, as Shane shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Shane slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Shane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Shane is pushing down on Jobber's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jobber is fighting to maintain full guard but Shane has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jobber flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Shane takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sean Shane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sean Shane showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Shane has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
