Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Ness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Davis!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ness jabs at Davis's body.
Davis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ness.

Davis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ness pinned against the cage. Ness gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ness just misses with a punch to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ness avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Davis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ness swivels and escapes.

and Davis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Davis is keen to just control but Ness is a slippery customer.

Ness is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Davis jumps into side control!

Ness breaks Davis's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ness postures up in Davis's guard and throws a big left but Davis blocks it.
Davis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Davis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Davis prevents Ness from standing back up.
Davis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Davis passes to full mount!
Davis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Davis has hold of Ness's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ness manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Randy Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Davis has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ness is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Davis yanks on the arm and Ness is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Davis.
