Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Asebedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Amos Moses - Jerry Reed. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asebedo walks into a jab.
Asebedo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Johnson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Asebedo throws a poor cross that misses
letting Johnson counter with a right hand.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Asebedo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Johnson counters with a nice body shot.
Some wild striking there from Asebedo.
Asebedo throws a leg kick
and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Asebedo won't be happy with that.
Johnson tries to move to mount but Asebedo blocks the move with his legs.
Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Asebedo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Johnson tries to advance to mount but Asebedo denies him.

Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Asebedo is on top in guard.

Asebedo is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Asebedo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jimbo Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
