Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lance Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marlin Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor has chosen Love is my Religion as his entrance music. Lance Knight has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lance Knight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marlin Taylor! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Taylor sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Knight is just content to waste time from the top position. Taylor takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Knight stays in close to Taylor's body and controls the position. Knight won't allow Taylor to sweep him here. Knight tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. Knight trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Taylor looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Taylor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Knight wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knight accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Taylor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Knight is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor wants to stand and escape but Knight is having none of it. Knight postures up and lands a big shot to Taylor's brow. Knight sitting in guard, not really doing much. Taylor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Knight gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Knight trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Taylor wants to get back to his feet but Knight is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Taylor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Knight wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Knight might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lance Knight. Knight shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Taylor defends it nicely. Knight feints and as Taylor raises his hands in defense, Knight changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Knight is breathing heavily. Taylor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Knight gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Knight trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Knight is controlling him. Knight wants to pass the guard but Taylor is keeping the position. Taylor is looking to stand up but Knight isn't so interested in that idea. Taylor trying to keep a closed guard but Knight is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Knight thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Knight is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Taylor is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Taylor has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Taylor slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Knight is looking for a sweep. Taylor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Taylor is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Taylor perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Taylor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marlin Taylor will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Knight shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Knight keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Taylor with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Knight fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Taylor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Taylor looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Knight tries to hold on but Taylor pushes him away. Taylor prevents Knight from getting the reversal. Taylor with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Taylor is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Taylor!
