Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Talentus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KG Grievous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gaius Talentus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, KG Grievous! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grievous defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Talentus. Talentus closes the distance and clinches up with Grievous, looking for a takedown. Talentus pushes Grievous against the cage but Grievous circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Talentus closes the distance and clinches up with Grievous, looking for a takedown. Talentus pushes Grievous against the cage but Grievous circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gaius Talentus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Talentus keeps the fight on the outside. Grievous lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Talentus circles away quickly and effectively. Grievous darts in and clinches Talentus up against the cage. Talentus jumps into guard, dragging Grievous to the mat.
Talentus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Talentus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Talentus wants to stand up but Grievous is controlling him. Grievous trying to control the position from guard on top but Talentus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Talentus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grievous is looking for a sweep. Talentus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Grievous gets back to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Talentus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Talentus is fighting to break Grievous's control of his arms but Grievous is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Talentus trying to control but Grievous is working from the bottom. Talentus is really struggling to control Grievous but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Grievous is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grievous keeping moving, preventing Talentus from controlling successfully. Grievous really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Talentus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Grievous has closed the distance and engaged Talentus in a clinch.
Talentus tries to score a body lock takedown but Grievous shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Grievous breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Grievous tries to close the distance and clinch but Talentus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Grievous displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Talentus. Talentus is breathing heavily. Grievous stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grievous wants it to stay on the feet. Grievous misses with a body kick. Grievous drives through with a takedown into guard. Grievous is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Talentus is trying to control the position but Grievous postures up. Grievous pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Talentus is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Grievous is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Grievous tries to stand but Talentus is controlling from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grievous stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Talentus swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
KG Grievous dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Talentus avoids a kick to the body.
Talentus tries for a takedown but Grievous circles away easily and Grievous holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Talentus is looking to break free of the clinch but Grievous has double underhooks. Grievous tightens his grip and picks Talentus up, before dumping him to the ground. Talentus manages to land in guard. Grievous slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Grievous throwing strikes from guard but Talentus blocks nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Talentus is trying to keep Grievous in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Talentus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Talentus keeping full guard, as Grievous tries to pass. Grievous works a leg free and moves into half guard. Talentus manages to get to full guard.
Talentus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Talentus looking to control and managing it successfully. Grievous is looking to improve his position but Talentus isn't that keen on the idea. Talentus trying to control but he's not successful this time. Talentus with the ground and pound from mount. Grievous has given up his back here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Talentus tightening his grip on Grievous, looking for the choke. You can see the frustration on Grievous's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Talentus is not going to allow Grievous to sit and survive in this position. Grievous is really stuck here.

You can see the frustration on Grievous's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Grievous clinches up with Talentus and pushes him back against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Grievous.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Talentus. Talentus is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Grievous gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grievous decides to pull guard. Grievous bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Talentus's guard. Grievous trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
KG Grievous showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Grievous is looking to advance position but Talentus won't allow it. Talentus is looking for a sweep. Grievous is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Grievous looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Grievous tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Talentus.

Talentus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Talentus trying to control the position from guard on top but Grievous is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that's the end of the fight! KG Grievous comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Grievous has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
