Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Good Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). wa Za Banga comes to the cage accompanied by Hell March. The crowd seem to be enjoying Day's choice of entrance music: Hifana - Wamono. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract wa Za Banga.
Day keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
wa Za Banga looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Day is looking to chop away at wa Za Banga's legs.
wa Za Banga goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
wa Za Banga cracks the inside of Day's front leg.
wa Za Banga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Day shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches wa Za Banga napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Day has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Day wants to lay and pray for a moment but wa Za Banga keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Day looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
wa Za Banga is doing well to control the position and prevent Day from advancing to side control.
Day is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Day looking to ground and pound but wa Za Banga is blocking nicely.
wa Za Banga tries to hold on but Day pushes him away.

Day is working for a guillotine from mount but wa Za Banga frees his head quite easily.

Day takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

wa Za Banga is squirming around, avoiding Day's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
wa Za Banga tries to reverse the position but Day maintains control.
Day throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Day controlling the pace for now.
Day trying to control but wa Za Banga is having none of it.
wa Za Banga tries to hold on but Day pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee warns wa Za Banga that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
wa Za Banga tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Good Day dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Day throws a looping overhand right but wa Za Banga ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
