Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandes misses with the combination.
Fik avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fernandes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Fik has time to react.

Fernandes misses with a double jab.

Fernandes tries to bum rush Fik with a series of wild strikes but Fik uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A nice inside leg kick there by Fernandes. That's going to slow Fik down.
Fernandes slaps away a takedown attempt from Fik, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fernandes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fik moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fik just misses with a punch to the body.
Fernandes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fik circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Fernandes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fik throws a nice looking combination but Fernandes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fik shoots in looking for a takedown. Fernandes tries to sprawl out of it but Fik keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fernandes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Marcelo Fernandes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vohn Fik.

Fik feints and as Fernandes raises his hands in defense, Fik changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fik postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Fik thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fik wants to control from the top but Fernandes keeps moving.
Fik slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
A lull in the action here as Fik stalls from top position.
Fik has an Americana. Fernandes didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fik is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fik hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Vohn Fik!
