Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Preston Schmidli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonah Roncesvalles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmidli's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Swimming with Dolphins - Fast Car. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Preston Schmidli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonah Roncesvalles! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roncesvalles defending well as Schmidli loads up on a big left hand. Schmidli scores with a sloppy right hand. Roncesvalles should have avoided that one. Schmidli showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Roncesvalles.
Schmidli pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Schmidli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Schmidli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roncesvalles swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roncesvalles looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Roncesvalles thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Schmidli thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Roncesvalles looking for a guillotine here but Schmidli defends easily.

Schmidli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Roncesvalles trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roncesvalles is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Schmidli is aware though and is defending well. Roncesvalles keeping full guard, as Schmidli tries to pass. Schmidli has gone for a leg lock! Roncesvalles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Schmidli's guard. Schmidli is breathing heavily. Schmidli throws his legs up looking for a submission but Roncesvalles uses it to pass to side control.
Schmidli on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Roncesvalles creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schmidli regains half guard. Roncesvalles is keen to just control but Schmidli is a slippery customer. Roncesvalles looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Roncesvalles is keen to just control but Schmidli is a slippery customer. Roncesvalles is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Schmidli has managed to free his arm - good work. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Roncesvalles drops an elbow to the side of Schmidli's head. Schmidli looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Roncesvalles takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Roncesvalles looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that.
