0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Shklyarevskiy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Pollard! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.

so Shklyarevskiy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pollard avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Shklyarevskiy controls from within his opponent's guard. Shklyarevskiy wants to pass the guard but Pollard is keeping the position. Shklyarevskiy is looking to work some ground and pound but Pollard has wrist control. Pollard trying to control the position.

Shklyarevskiy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pollard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pollard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shklyarevskiy. That did some damage! Pollard throws a head kick that half lands.
Shklyarevskiy tries to clinch up but Pollard circles away and keeps his distance. Pollard clinches but Shklyarevskiy breaks the clinch
and Shklyarevskiy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pollard!

Shklyarevskiy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pollard has managed to free his arm - good work. Shklyarevskiy wants to stand but Pollard has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Shklyarevskiy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pollard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shklyarevskiy, into his guard. Shklyarevskiy is breathing heavily.

Pollard decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shklyarevskiy, up you get!

and Shklyarevskiy counters by clinching up. Pollard gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shklyarevskiy.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Shklyarevskiy will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Shklyarevskiy has his takedown stuffed
and Pollard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shklyarevskiy's guard now. Pollard is stalling in the full guard. Shklyarevskiy keeping full guard, as Pollard tries to pass. Pollard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Shklyarevskiy wants to get back to his feet but Pollard passes into half guard.
Pollard seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Pollard trying to control but Shklyarevskiy is having none of it. Pollard controlling from the full mount. Pollard wants to control the pace but Shklyarevskiy is squirming around nicely.

Pollard can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shklyarevskiy is looking to escape. Pollard controlling the position easily from mount.

Shklyarevskiy takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Pollard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Pollard counters with a shoot takedown. Shklyarevskiy fights it but they end up in guard. Pollard stopping the sweep attempt from Shklyarevskiy. Thomas Pollard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Pollard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pollard wants it to stay on the feet. Pollard throws a body punch but Shklyarevskiy moves out of range.
Pollard drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pollard decides to stand up, so the ref orders Shklyarevskiy to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pollard. Thomas Pollard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shklyarevskiy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pollard was covering up waiting for the punch and Shklyarevskiy finishes the takedown easily into guard. Shklyarevskiy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pollard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Pollard throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Shklyarevskiy is trying to control but can't.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ivan Shklyarevskiy. I think Shklyarevskiy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
