Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and angel rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by 4 In the Morning. angel rivera told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rivera fails to land with a series of punches.
Thomas shoots in for a double leg but rivera sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
rivera fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
rivera takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Thomas lands a really nice looking cross but rivera seems unphased.
Thomas lunges at rivera with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by rivera's hand.

rivera takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Thomas takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Thomas counters with a nice uppercut.
angel rivera is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thomas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but rivera swivels and escapes.
Thomas stuns rivera with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
rivera looks gassed!
Thomas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches rivera on the side of the head.

Thomas is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
rivera looks to land a right hand but Thomas moved out of range.

rivera takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Thomas working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. rivera looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Thomas! Submission of the night perhaps?
