Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Theo Rains (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Nowka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nowka has chosen I Get Knocked Down as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Theo Rains! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Nowka! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nowka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rains circles away quickly and effectively. Nowka keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rains. Rains misses with a series of wild punches.
Rains throws a nice looking combination but Nowka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nowka throws a one two combo.
It looks like Theo Rains has been cut. Rains shoots in and bounces Nowka off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rains loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nowka wants to stand but Rains is controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nowka can do anything to dispel that myth. Rains throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rains is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rains stops Nowka from standing up. Rains has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nowka throws a right and a left that both miss. Rains takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nowka throws a series of punches but Rains avoids them all with ease. Nowka works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Nowka bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rains's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Nowka as Rains shoots in. Rains is breathing heavily. Nowka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rains circles away quickly and effectively. Rains just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch combination from Nowka misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nowka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rains with a nice cross. Nowka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rains moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nowka looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Rains lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Nowka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nowka walks into a straight right hand from Rains. Nowka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rains circles away quickly and effectively. Rains slips a jab and a cross from Nowka.
Rains changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nowka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rains is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nowka is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nowka is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rains throws an elbow but Nowka slips to the side and avoids it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rains landing strikes. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sloppy strikes there by Rains. Rains tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Nowka is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rains asserts his dominance and retains side control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nowka fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rains connects with a crisp jab. Nowka looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Nowka takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Nowka misses with the combination.
Nowka lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rains lands with an uppercut that bounces Nowka off the cage and back into rage. Rains paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Nowka lands with a nice body punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Some wild striking there from Nowka.
Nowka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Rains throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nowka's waist but Nowka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rains off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theo Rains. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nowka takes one on the button. Nowka looks to land a combination but Rains avoids it well. Nowka lands with a cross. Rains shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Nowka is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rains scores with a couple of nice shots. Rains stops Nowka from getting back to his feet.
Nice strikes from Rains there. Rains prevents Nowka from standing back up.
Rains seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Nowka is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
