Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ludwig Manres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Roederer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Manres might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Aqualung - Jethro Tull. Louis Roederer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ludwig Manres! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Louis Roederer! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roederer misses with a wild combination.
Manres has a takedown stuffed. Manres shoots for a double leg takedown but Roederer sprawls well. He's pushed Manres's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Roederer throws a hook but Manres blocks it. Manres looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roederer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Manres is working away from the top position though. Manres slips a nice elbow through Roederer's hands, connecting with Roederer's forehead. Roederer preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Roederer tries to get to full guard but Manres has control of the leg. Manres is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Roederer sees it coming and defends easily. Roederer keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Roederer is defending against the submission attempts here by Manres.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roederer tries to roll over but Manres keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Manres thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Roederer trying to control here.
Manres looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Manres wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roederer keeps working. Roederer is defending against the submission attempts here by Manres.
Manres is looking for a kimura but Roederer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Manres to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Manres wants to free his trapped foot but Roederer is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Roederer throws a right and a left that both miss. Manres shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roederer sprawls well. Roederer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Manres gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ludwig Manres. That's going to take a lot out of him. Manres uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Roederer. Manres uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roederer. Manres gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Manres motions for Roederer to come forward. Manres throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Roederer wants to clinch. Louis Roederer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Manres will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Manres on the wrong end of a nice hook. Roederer doesn't manage to clinch there - Manres circles away.
Manres changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roederer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Manres working the ground and pound but Roederer is defending the strikes. Roederer tries to bench press Manres off him but Manres keeps the position. Manres in side control, throwing shots but Roederer defends.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manres scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Roederer to see if he's OK. Manres working the ground and pound but Roederer is defending the strikes. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Manres trying to control the action but Roederer is working from the bottom. Roederer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Roederer controlling the position for now. Roederer wants to improve his position but Manres is controlling well.

Manres looking to control but Roederer is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Roederer wants to hold on but Manres pushes him away. Roederer is working to get back to half guard.

Manres has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Roederer tries to hold on but Manres pushes him away. Manres wants to finish this one by submission but Roederer is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Manres. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ludwig Manres will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Roederer lands a nice hook to Manres's body. Manres takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Roederer tries to clinch up but Manres circles away and keeps his distance. Manres keeps the fight on the outside. Manres shoots in and bounces Roederer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Roederer has a closed guard, preventing Manres from standing up. Manres stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roederer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Manres is working hard here to advance position. Roederer looking for a sweep. Not yet Roederer, not yet. Roederer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Manres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Roederer wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Roederer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roederer wants it to stay on the feet. Roederer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

It looks like Ludwig Manres has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Roederer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Manres is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Roederer throws an elbow but Manres slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roederer working the head with strikes. Roederer throwing strikes but Manres manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Manres tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Roederer is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Manres's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Roederer regains full guard. Nicely done. Roederer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Manres defends it easily. Manres wants to pass the guard but Roederer is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manres throws a big right hand that misses. Roederer is pulling down on Manres's head. It's preventing any offense from Manres, at least for the moment. Roederer is trying to control the position but Manres postures up. Manres thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Roederer holds on and takes a little breather. Manres wants to pass the guard but Roederer is keeping the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Manres scores a takedown into full mount! Roederer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manres throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Roederer is looking to improve his position but Manres isn't that keen on the idea. Manres takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Roederer can't escape the position.
Manres is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Roederer has managed to escape the submission attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roederer sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Louis Roederer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ludwig Manres's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That's one minute gone in the round. Manres is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Roederer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Roederer shrugs it off. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Roederer tries to get back to half guard but can't. Manres with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Roederer is trying desperately to improve position. Roederer wants to control but Manres is having none of it. Manres controlling from mount. Manres misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Manres lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Roederer is looking to improve his position but Manres isn't that keen on the idea. Manres pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Manres lands a nice shot to the head. Manres lands a big shot there that rocks Roederer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ludwig Manres overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Manres cracks Roederer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Manres misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Roederer is looking to clinch but Manres is avoiding it.

A jab lands there for Roederer. Roederer misses with an uppercut. Roederer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Manres drops down looking for an ankle pick but Roederer pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Roederer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Roederer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Horrible takedown by Manres or perhaps it was just good defense by Roederer which made him look bad. Roederer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Roederer throws a nice looking combination but Manres bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Manres swats away the attempt to clinch by Roederer. Manres shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roederer as he jumps to the side. Manres shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Roederer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roederer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Manres stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Roederer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Manres takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Roederer with a hook. Roederer throws a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donk. Roederer catches Manres right on the button with a cross. Roederer cracks Manres with a good jab. Oh Manres is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Roederer drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Manres's head, knocking him out cold! Roederer is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 4, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Louis Roederer! Louis Roederer is the new middleweight champion!
