Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Iwamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yoshihiro Iwamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miles Connor!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iwamura tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Connor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Iwamura displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Connor.

Iwamura closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Iwamura lands in his opponent's guard.
Iwamura with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Iwamura wants to clinch
and Connor counters with an inside leg kick.
Iwamura tries to close the distance and clinch but Connor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Connor manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Connor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Connor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Connor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Iwamura kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Connor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Iwamura was covering up waiting for the punch and Connor finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Connor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Iwamura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miles Connor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Connor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Iwamura to the mat! Iwamura manages to get full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
