Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carlos Bezerra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anatolii Kharlampiev! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bezerra misses with a takedown attempt - Kharlampiev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A head kick from Kharlampiev lands but Bezerra takes it in his stride. Kharlampiev defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bezerra. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bezerra is defended easily by Kharlampiev. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Bezerra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kharlampiev drives through and clinches with Bezerra against the cage.
Kharlampiev decides to pull guard. Bezerra trying to control the position from guard on top but Kharlampiev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bezerra is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kharlampiev is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Bezerra scoring with punches to the head and body. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kharlampiev wants to stand up but Bezerra is controlling him. Bezerra wants to stand but Kharlampiev has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kharlampiev keeping full guard, as Bezerra tries to pass. Bezerra trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kharlampiev keeping moving, preventing Bezerra from controlling successfully. Bezerra stopping the sweep attempt from Kharlampiev.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kharlampiev leaves Bezerra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kharlampiev clinches up with Bezerra and pushes him back against the cage. Bezerra tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kharlampiev smiles and moves away.

Kharlampiev moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Kharlampiev moves into range and clinches up with Bezerra. Bezerra fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Bezerra misses with a takedown attempt - Kharlampiev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kharlampiev scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kharlampiev lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bezerra's sensitive parts. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bezerra. An inside leg kick lands from Kharlampiev. Kharlampiev pushes Bezerra up against the cage in a clinch. Bezerra looking for a takedown. Kharlampiev manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kharlampiev wants to get back to his feet but Bezerra passes into half guard.
Kharlampiev moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bezerra won't allow Kharlampiev to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bezerra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kharlampiev is keeping the position for now. Bezerra wants to control from the top but Kharlampiev keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bezerra looking to pass the guard. Kharlampiev keeping moving, preventing Bezerra from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anatolii Kharlampiev dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kharlampiev moves into range and clinches up with Bezerra. Bezerra tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kharlampiev avoids it. Kharlampiev using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Kharlampiev lands a body shot. Kharlampiev breaks from the clinch.
Bezerra looks to score with a jab to the body but Kharlampiev is just out of range. Kharlampiev buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Anatolii Kharlampiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kharlampiev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bezerra circles away quickly and effectively. Bezerra throws a nice looking combination but Kharlampiev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carlos Bezerra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kharlampiev moves into the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Kharlampiev jumps guard and drags Bezerra to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Kharlampiev pulls Bezerra in close to prevent any damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kharlampiev keeping moving, preventing Bezerra from controlling successfully.

Kharlampiev wants to stand and escape but Bezerra is having none of it. Kharlampiev looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bezerra chips away with some ground and pound. Kharlampiev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bezerra is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bezerra trying to control but Kharlampiev is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bezerra moves out of range as Kharlampiev throws a body kick.
Kharlampiev lands a front kick. Kharlampiev pushes Bezerra up against the cage in a clinch. Kharlampiev breaks from the clinch.
Kharlampiev is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kharlampiev lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kharlampiev shoots in and bounces Bezerra off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kharlampiev would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bezerra is pulling down on Kharlampiev's head to control his posture. Kharlampiev cracks Bezerra with a solid left hand. Bezerra controls Kharlampiev momentarily but Kharlampiev frees himself. Kharlampiev lands a couple of decent looking shots. Bezerra is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kharlampiev trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bezerra's guard. Kharlampiev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bezerra wants to sweep but no luck. Kharlampiev is in close to Bezerra's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bezerra trying to keep a closed guard but Kharlampiev is proving a slippery customer.
Kharlampiev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anatolii Kharlampiev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Bezerra drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kharlampiev pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kharlampiev lands with a shot to the body. Kharlampiev has closed the distance and engaged Bezerra in a clinch.

Kharlampiev throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bezerra blocks it with crossed arms. Kharlampiev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kharlampiev plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Kharlampiev throws a right and a left that both miss. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kharlampiev steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bezerra. Kharlampiev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bezerra to the mat! Bezerra manages to get full guard. Kharlampiev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kharlampiev has gone for a leg lock! Bezerra slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kharlampiev's guard. Kharlampiev has a closed guard, preventing Bezerra from standing up. Bezerra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kharlampiev is keeping the position for now. Bezerra won't allow Kharlampiev to get back to his feet. Bezerra tries to free his leg and advance position but Kharlampiev is retaining full guard.

Kharlampiev thuds his right hand into Bezerra's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Bezerra shoots and misses and Kharlampiev finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Bezerra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bezerra tries for a takedown but Kharlampiev circles away easily and Kharlampiev counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bezerra won't be happy with that. Kharlampiev decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bezerra to his feet. Kharlampiev dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bezerra. That did some damage!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Kharlampiev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kharlampiev stalks Bezerra and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bezerra's face. Bezerra staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bezerra fails with the takedown and Kharlampiev counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kharlampiev shoots in and bounces Bezerra off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kharlampiev postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Anatolii Kharlampiev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kharlampiev postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bezerra is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kharlampiev is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Bezerra wants to stand and escape but Kharlampiev is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Anatolii Kharlampiev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kharlampiev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
