Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tre Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Amazing. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Simmons as Mir shoots in. Simmons rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mir moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Simmons gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Simmons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mir lands a couple of elbows. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simmons can do anything to dispel that myth. Mir trying to control but Simmons is working from the bottom. Mir passes into half guard. Mir slips a nice elbow through Simmons's hands, connecting with Simmons's forehead. Mir wants to work for an arm triangle but Simmons is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mir is looking to take a break and control but Simmons is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mir will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Simmons is trying to maintain the position but Mir is very close to passing his half guard. Simmons tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Mir manages to move to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Simmons can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Simmons is looking to get to half guard. Mir landing strikes from the mount and Simmons is in trouble! Simmons is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mir lands a big shot there that rocks Simmons but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Simmons tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mir connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Simmons is rocked! Mir prevents Simmons from getting the reversal. Simmons looks gassed! Mir looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Simmons taking shots to the head. Simmons is still in real trouble! Can Mir finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir punishing his opponent with strikes. Simmons seems to have recovered his senses. Simmons is desperately trying to improve his position but Mir has a good base and remains in mount. Mir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The referee warns Simmons that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mir fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Mir has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Simmons's face.

Simmons is looking to improve his position but Mir isn't that keen on the idea. BOOM! Mir connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Mir lands a heavy elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mir working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simmons is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Simmons is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Mir scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Simmons regains half guard. Simmons tries to roll over but Mir keeps him under control. Mir blocks the strikes from Simmons.
Simmons is trying to maintain the position but Mir is very close to passing his half guard. Simmons is trying is best to control the position here. Mir is keen to just control but Simmons is a slippery customer. Simmons looks like he's trying to stand up.
Simmons is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mir on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nice takedown defense from Simmons. No joy for Mir on that attempt. Simmons shoots in and bounces Mir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Mir lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Simmons! Mir lands a big elbow. Simmons taking shots to the head. Mir is landing with some decent strikes but Simmons is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mir cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Simmons bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Mir looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mir dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mir is looking to clinch but Simmons is avoiding it.
Mir fails with the takedown and Simmons counters with a takedown into side control. Mir is looking for a sweep. The referee asks Simmons politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Simmons prefers to stall for the moment though. Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mir is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Simmons's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Simmons scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Simmons wants to take a breather but Mir is having none of it. Mir is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Simmons's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Simmons's back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mir is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Simmons knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Simmons for a finish. Mir doesn't have the hooks in and Simmons manages to turn into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir has his feet on Simmons's thighs here. He's pushed Simmons off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Simmons screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
